Grants feel impossible. Your statement sounds nothing like your work. Maybe you've been so buried in the day-to-day that your practice has taken a back seat — and you're finally ready to change that. LOAM is here for artists who are done waiting.
LOAM might be right for you if…
You're intimidated by grants or exhibition proposals but feel ready to take the next step in your practice.
You feel like your artist statement doesn't reflect your work — too generic or vague to help you stand out.
You have a big opportunity or deadline on the horizon and need a thought partner to help you feel prepared and confident before the panic or imposter syndrome sets in.
You're uncertain about the many paths available to artists (e.g. commercial, fine art, public, community-based) and aren't sure which direction makes sense for you and your work.
You're self-taught or lack the connections and resources to navigate the art world and don't know where to start.
You've neglected the business and marketing side of your practice (we do live under capitalism, after all) and either aren't making income from your work or feel overwhelmed by the systems you have in place.
You've been making work on the side around a day job, parenting, or other commitments, but you're ready to shift your focus and take your practice more seriously.
Services
LOAM offers consulting and representation services for emerging and mid-career visual artists. Whether you are looking for a fresh perspective on your existing materials, support developing new ones, or a collaborative partner to help you complete a specific project, LOAM meets you where you are.
All engagements begin with a free 30-minute introductory call and a short survey to get a clear picture of what you want to accomplish.

One focused session for artists who want an expert outside perspective.
Before we meet, you share materials of your choosing — your website, an artist statement, a grant you have applied for, a bio, or anything else you want a second set of eyes on. During our 2-hour session, I will share honest, informed feedback and practical recommendations across whatever you bring: your branding and online presence, your written materials, your overall positioning, or where your practice is headed next.
This session is verbal — you will leave with a clear sense of direction and actionable next steps, not a rewritten document. It is a great starting point if you have never worked with a consultant before or if you have a specific question you have been sitting with.
Includes: pre-session material review + 2-hour consultation
-
Three sessions for artists ready to refine their materials and sharpen their voice.
We will begin with a clear goal in mind — updating your artist statement, strengthening a grant application, or improving how you present yourself and your work online — and work toward it together over three 60-minute sessions. In addition to verbal feedback, I will provide written notes and edits on your materials between sessions so you can see the changes, not just hear them.
This package is well suited for artists preparing for a grant deadline, an exhibition opportunity, or a career transition who want structured support over a few weeks.
Includes: pre-session material review + three 60-minute sessions + written notes and edits
-
Five sessions for artists committed to building a lasting foundation for their practice.
This is our most collaborative engagement. Over five 60-minute sessions we will work through your materials together — updating your core documents, strengthening your voice, and completing at least one finished asset: a grant application, exhibition proposal, artist statement, or other deliverable you have been putting off. I will work directly alongside you on the writing and editing, not just advising from the outside.
Artists who get the most from this package are those with a specific project on the horizon — an application they want to submit, a body of work they want to pitch, or a career chapter they are ready to begin. You will walk away with something done.
Includes: pre-session material review + five 60-minute sessions + written notes and edits + one completed draft deliverable
